IN LOVING MEMORY, MAY HE FOREVER FLY FREE

On Wednesday, March 19, 2008 Sgt. Gregory D. Unruh, age 28, made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, his family and his friends. Gregory was deployed to Iraq with the 2nd squadron, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment and was killed while on a reconnaissance mission. Gregory was a soldier, “WARRIOR”, and so much more; a husband, a son and a brother. He loved life, his wife and family while living his life to make the world a better place. His strong, quiet personality was an inspiration to both his comrades and family. He had a wonderful heart and was unable to sit by without supporting his country.
Gregory graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston , May 2004. He worked with his father until he enlisted in the Army, February 2006. He had planned to attend Law School and raise a family with his wife after serving his country. The love for his wife and family was insurmountable and unconditional and cannot be diminished by his passing. His comrades will remember “The Professor” for his courageous efforts and loyalty to our country. We are better people for having known and loved Gregory Daniel Unruh, he will be missed.
